International “Green Talents” Competition

Join the Competition and get the chance to visit the hot spots of sustainability research in Germany! Selected by a high-ranking jury of German experts, the “Green Talents” will be invited to a two-week science forum, touring Germany in the fall of 2013. The year following the forum, the winners are invited to return to Germany for an additional research stay of up to three months at an institute or company of their choice.

Die aktuelle Ausschreibung eröffnet exzellenten Nachwuchsforscherinnen und -forschern die Möglichkeit, eine eigene Nachwuchsgruppe an einer nordrhein-westfälischen Universität ihrer Wahl aufzubauen. Dafür stehen den Rückkehrern über fünf Jahre jeweils bis zu 1,25 Millionen Euro zur Verfügung. (read more)

Alberta-Germany technology commercialization program announces first round of projects

Three Alberta small to medium-sized enterprises have been selected to receive support for commercializing innovative products and services through the Alberta – Germany Collaboration Fund for Product Development and Commercialization.

The program is a partnership between Alberta Enterprise and Advanced Education and the German-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research (GCCIR) aimed at supporting joint research and commercialization activities between companies in Alberta and Germany in strategic areas of technology.

MOOC Production Fellowships

Up to ten instructors or teams of instructors will be awarded a fellowship for their innovative Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) concepts. Fellows will receive a 25,000 Euro stipend to pay for the production of their courses. The aim is to have at least five courses online in the fall of 2013. Up to five courses may go online in the spring of 2014. The courses will run on the iversity platform and will be available to the public free of charge.
