First Project Round
Four Albertan small to medium-sized enterprises have been selected to receive support for commercializing innovative products and services through the Alberta – Germany Collaboration Fund for Product Development and Commercialization.
The first joint Alberta – Germany projects have begun their collaboration on April 1st, 2013.
Selected Projects
Albertan company Boreal Laser collaborates with Nanoplus from Germany to develop new atmospheric pollution monitoring technology using Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCL).

Calgary Scientific Inc. und Visus Technology Transfer GmbH are undertaking a product development and technology demonstration project to enable advanced physician to physician collaboration in medical imaging analysis for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease.

FracRite/Toterra Remediation is a Calgary based environmental service company that has teamed with its German partner HPC AG, one of Germany’s leading providers of environmental solutions, to provide a pilot demonstration of Canadian fracturing technology for environmental remediation at two Project sites in Germany on behalf of HPC AG’s industrial clients.

Eguana Technologies and ProSol Invest Deutschland GmbH are collaborating to enhance the functionality and performance of ProSol’s market leading residential energy storage system. The project will build on the companies’ established partnership to produce a fully integrated product platform for global markets based on Eguana’s Bidirex smart grid inverter.
