In December 2012 the German-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research co-organized a German Networking Event at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Germany-related organization on campus (the UofA International, Helmholtz-Alberta Initiative, the Humboldt Foundation Canada, the German Academic International Network, the Germans Academic Exchange Service, Abby-Net, the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies and of course the GCCIR) held short presentations to inform about activities on campus. Also his Excellency German Ambassador Werner Wnendt made an appearance and gave warm welcoming remarks. All in all, about 80 people attended the event. The event aimed to facilitate networking between members of the German community at the University of Alberta. See a selection of impressions of the event below.
