We all know that being an entrepreneur can be isolating. How do you know if your business is on the right track – should you pivot, keep going or change direction altogether? Sometimes you just need a second (or third) opinion on your next move.

This is where an action plan comes in handy. TEC Edmonton can offer up to ~25 hours at no charge through what we call an action plan. The action plan is a short blueprint that maps out where a select innovation-based company stands, what the company needs help to achieve, and what the next steps should be. For the company, this might mean finding financing, launching a product, pivoting the business model or protecting intellectual property. Our TEC Edmonton in-house Executives-in-Residence create completely free action plans that can:

• Help develop a clear plan for how to advance your business,
• Provide clarity around how we can help beyond that,
• Tell you how other service providers in the region can help.

For example, one of TEC’s Executives-in-Residence (EIRs) with much experience raising capital or experience operating at a C-suite level would work on the action plan, which might include a review of a business plan and giving advice on the business model, financing options, pivoting or who may be able to assist. We have found that the action plan has been useful for companies as they prepare a funding application.

TEC can offer the action plan to new and/ or small (SME) innovation-based companies that have some evidence of market traction.

To get your own action plan, start by contacting TEC Edmonton today. You’ll receive an initial assessment and if you meet the criteria, you’ll be assigned to an Executive in Residence or Technology Management Officer who will work with you to develop your personalized action plan.
