Project Description

GCCIR The “Chemistry of Wine” Night

August 22, 2022

Internationally recognized as both a cultural and culinary asset, wine is a major part of German culture. German wine is mostly produced in sunny areas around the Mosel, Pfalz or Baden regions.

Covering everything from grape gathering to wine storage, this wine tasting and lecture will be delivered by Professor Dr. Dietmar Kennepohl on Aug 22, 2018. Together we will explore the world of wine throughout the ages and see some of the surprising chemistry behind this popular beverage. The presentation will touch on topics including the fermentation and aging process, styles of wine, health benefits, and some of the myths that surround wines.

So whether you are new to wine or a connoisseur, join Professor Kennepohl for this descriptive and humorous presentation to see why wine is more than an alcoholic beverage.

Participants can enjoy the lecture and tasting for a registration fee of $30.

“Good company, good wine, good welcome, can make good people.” (William Shakespeare)
